"Memoirs of a Dutiful Daughter" is an exhaustive look at early life of Simone de Beauvoir. The autobiography explains four stages in the development of her life from age I recommend this book to anyone interested in the life of Simone de Beauvoir or for an account of bourgeois upbringing in the early 20th century.
